announced that the Cubs have "zero chance" of retaining Bellinger.

Nightengale told the Jack Vita Show, "I think there is no chance that they will re-sign him as a free agent."

"His agent is Scott Boras. He's had a big year, so I think he'll be priced heavily, well over $100 million.

So I think he'll sit out next February and sign around spring training...I wouldn't be surprised if they ask for at least $150 million."

Bellinger and the Cubs have a reciprocal option for the 2024 season.
